Almond milk!

So I have always known that this stuff existed...but never gave much thought to the nutritional count (super low calories) and such. The other day my boss asks me if I would like to try some....so I did and it was good. And I am looking forward to trying to steam it for my coffee!!!

Homemade cleaning peoducts

Seriously I have a new obsession. Actually that is not true....I have always had a cleaning counter obsession. Like all the time before and after I even make a sandwich. It is a bit crazy.

Anyways about a month and a half ago i got this amazing cleaner. At least it seamed to at the time...super strength stuff and probably not meant for consistent use.... And it didn't smell good and it made me dizzy. But I loved it. Used for everything. Carpets etc. but like I said the crazy strength came with a lot of near dizziness. And so begins my idea for something better.

The search started looking for the febreeze recipe I pinned on Pinterest ages ago....cause it sounded cool and I knew I had the stuff so I went for it but the baking soda was a bit chunky....

In this same search I discovered all purpose cleaner....make it yourself. And I could not resist...honestly my counters seem cleaner....so worth the initial cost of things! And I can not stop cleaning with it... I love it....an lavender....that is great no gross chemical smell! (and rumor has it lavender is a NATURAL disinfectant!) it cannot get better!

Carmel delight bars

I swear for the last two weeks all I have heard people talk about is girl scout cookies....non stop....all the time. Two things: I am cheap $5 a box seems crazy an when I do get them they disappear like crazy! So when I pinned caramel delight bars....amazing

I had to get them out of the house and also alter the recipe....horrible for me no lies but sooooo good. Sorta made me want to put coconut in everything!

Gas-pumped and payed inside

Ok this is silly (and from February) two things I never do happened

1. I never go in the gas station, always pay at the pump.

2. If my husband isn't with me I always pump my gas.

So this lovely day the pay at pump thing wasn't working (ug!) so I went inside and casually mentioned that the last few times I had filled up there mg tank had stopped it multiple times rely and I had no idea why. So the guy actually came out and filled it for me. He has issues too. Despite his kindness I don't have the patience to wait for the pump and no longer full at this brand.

Carrrrr

As of earlier this week my car is officially payed off!!! I already feel like we are getting a check instead! Yayy! No more car payments at our house.

More channels?

So first off yes it has been AGES since I blogged....I gave done new things....just no time to talk about it! But as we speak one of these new things is happening.

If you know me you might know that growing up I had ONE channel (unless the wind was just right on a good day) I watched price is right all summer long and then various rented or owned video tapes. I was behind the time. When my family moved to California when I was 13 I was ecstatic to get like 5 channels an then they changed the channel box thing about 3 1/2 years ago and my 5 turned to like 20...but they were mostly random and dumb I use an antenna and it is choppy....Matt has LIKED the idea of more channels for ages....and things are sorts crazy around here but our antenna in a single level doesn't receive as well as it did upstairs....so we went for it an the u verse guy (thanks to my awesome cousin) is currently here setting it up I will be able o record my favorite shows....watch the Kansas basketball games at my house instead of my parents (i should tell you they got dish or u verse shortly after I moved out)

Tomorrow during the Kansas vs Mizzou game I am working so now the decision...do I follow it on my phone at the event...or do I TiVo it and avoid contact with any that would tell me until a couple hours after the game?

Cake decorating!

As mentioned I am taking a cake class with my dad here is my first cake....I am embarrassed to say that his fish turned out much better than mg cupcake.

Sorta fun...

New use on scrapbook paper. If only my decor would have allowed for the book of pink paper I have sitting around!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and already ha canvas, and was already headed to Michael's so it worked perfect to buy a bit of paper and get started on this little project. I love projects that you can finish in an afternoon for a little relaxation time, and the price of this one was pretty cheap. Stuff like this makes me feel like I am on my way to 'being crafty'
Still need I get lots of felt and get moving on other activities but it is what it is.

No more keys

Wow! So much has happened over the last couple weeks I have barely had time to blog about it! I have a lot of catching up to do! (hopefully I don't forget any of them)

But today was a whole new experience. About 6 years ago I tuned in a key to a dorm room. That key meant nothing to me as I never really used it because of our suite situation and someone usually being there. So when I turned it in I didn't care. I actually have no memory of turning it in as I left, but I must have, because I got back my deposit and no longer have the key.

When I moved out of my parents house I didn't return their key. I still have it, and I still use it for things like dropping off food or the dog.

So today I can officially say that I turned in my first set of house keys. Our last day to leave our old place is today, soi gathered them up (except hubby needs to grab his) and took them down. I did a last walk through (where I grabbed a door mat and bleach that was left) and turned the keys in. Our apartment managers are great but the feeling was sort of surreal. If you are like me you get attached to you keys, carry then with you everywhere, when you travel it is weird not to have them, or even not to have a whole set if your car is getting worked on for the day. So getting rid of amenities, home, and mailbox keys all at once is a little bit crazy. But also pretty cool, I like the feeling of being done with that place, I liked it and we were happy there, but now I feel like we are completely moved....and it is amazing!

Class for fun?

So looking over my years of education I feel like I have never taken a class for fun. In high school a room ceramics...not because it was fun (though it was often enjoyable) but also to fulfill my art requirement. I attempted to take a wedding planning class as a fun elective but decided that I had a real wedding to plan not a fake one sink dropped it. In my last fall semester I signed up for games for all ages in hopes of learning more about games for education in the classroom, but had other things happening that weekend and dropped it. I also signed up for the ropes course to prove to myself that I could do it rather than for fun.

When my dad mentioned to me that e was taking a cake decorating course a few weeks ago I wanted to go, and ten we started talking about the need to mkae a ton of cake....and we stopped talking about it, honestly I forgot about it, until he called me last week asking f I was serious. Turns out the class needed another person to sign up or it would have to be canceled. So now for the first time ever I am taking a class for fun, and I am also taking a class last minute.

Glass cutting

So I have been collecting various glass bottles from friends and family for weeks. I finally had several sitting around and decided one thing to try would be cutting them with yarn. Yep you heard me....wrap yarn, tie, take off, dip yarn in nail polish remover, put back on bottle, light yarn on fire.....let burn....and then plunge into cold water.

It took several tries for it to actually work, and I cut my finger on the not super smooth edge....but it was fun! And Matt enjoyed it long after to play with fire. Any excuse right?
