Curtain Rods

I finished my curtain rods a couple months ago. Now that I am writing this I have learned that they aren't strong enough to stand up to umm who knows what?  I mean I guess that terror is probably my favorite pup Molly, but there is NO WAY that I would be able to explain if she actually effects it or just ate the couple pieces that came down.

I saw this plan on Pinterest but I will share my variation of it.

I started with a couple wooden dowels....I had to use 4 and cut them to a half point, because there wasn't one long enough to fit the width of my windows.

I used some round washers (they were in the doll craft section?) and glued them together 2 at a time to balance it out and then stuck those in the middle.  (pretty sure it was this 'middle' that messed up the rods all along) and used these same washers on both ends.  I then painted the entire thing black.

Then I took some black clay and formed it into small spirals and baked it according to package.I glued my spirals onto the end and was very happy with them.

A couple notes? Make sure the opening of your curtains will fit (yes I did learn the hard way).

And if the clay part falls don't let your dog break it ; )
